As a Principal Platform Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable, reliable cloud platforms that power Beamery’s talent data ecosystem. You will set engineering standards for reliability, observability, and incident response, enabling product teams to move fast at scale. You’ll mentor engineers, shape architectural vision, and drive cost-aware infrastructure practices. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with strategic platform initiatives in a fast-growing company that values inclusion and collaboration.

- Design architectures and RFCs for platform and infrastructure initiatives with cross-team impact
- Ship scalable, reliable, and cost-effective services while maintaining hands-on credibility
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders to scope large platform programs
- Help update the architectural vision to support Beamery’s strategy
- Set and promote standards for operational excellence, observability, and incident response
- Analyze major incidents and drive company-wide improvements
- Evolve the platform tech radar and advocate for or deprecate technologies
- Define end-to-end ownership and coach engineers up to Staff level
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success and Fortune 500 customers on solutions
- Stay connected to production via on-call to elevate reliability across the team
- Proven track record designing and delivering scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure
- Extensive production operations experience including on-call leadership and incident command
- Experience as an individual contributor in a senior engineering leadership role
- Deep Kubernetes production cluster expertise (lifecycle, autoscaling, RBAC, networking, HA)
- Infrastructure as Code experience, especially Terraform, and modern GitOps practices
- Strong software engineering foundation; production-grade tooling; Go preferred, NodeJS a plus
- Strong understanding of observability, SLOs, alerting and cost management
- Operational experience with Kafka, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Istio
- Familiarity with LLMOps; interest in model gateways, MLflow, LiteLLM is a bonus
- FinOps mindset; cost awareness as an engineering discipline
