Overview

As a Principal Product Consultant at Kainos, you lead major engagements from concept to delivery, shaping product strategies and business cases. You bring deep Agile transformation and user‑centred product experience, while coaching a small team of senior staff. You will manage client relationships at C‑level and translate business needs into actionable requirements. This role combines strategic product leadership with hands‑on delivery in a fast‑moving, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead engagements from initiation to completion and ensure successful delivery
  • Shape product strategies and business cases for client initiatives
  • Coach and develop senior team members and manage performance
  • Coordinate with Agile transformation initiatives and cross‑functional teams
  • Communicate effectively with C‑level stakeholders and clients
  • Translate business requirements into cost‑effective functional specifications
  • Demonstrate strong commercial awareness within project constraints
  • Foster a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team culture
Key requirements
  • Extensive experience in Product Management with strong UX, Agile and Programme Assurance knowledge
  • Experience across at least two major business verticals (e.g., Telco, Financial Services, Retail)
  • Experience in at least two business application environments (e.g., CRM, eCommerce)
  • Proven ability to engage with C‑level stakeholders and mentor clients
  • Broad business and technology understanding with awareness of industry trends
  • Demonstrable delivery experience in agile teams
  • Experience in line management or coaching
  • Expert facilitator capable of driving outcomes from large stakeholder groups
  • Ability to plan and lead consulting engagements end‑to‑end
  • Excellent commercial awareness and adaptability in changing environments
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage uncertainty
  • Proven team management skills in a multi‑disciplinary setting
  • Commitment to developing people through mentoring and coaching
