Principal Product Engineer

As Principal Product Engineer at Zapp, you own end-to-end delivery of customer-facing apps across iOS, Android, and web, with a strong AI-first mindset. You shape architecture, drive cross-stack features, and lead the integration of AI to deliver real customer value in fast, real-time delivery. You work with cross-functional teams to raise the bar on performance, reliability, and user experience, while mentoring others and championing scalable systems. • base salary 135,000–175,000

• Build and ship customer experiences across backend, web, infrastructure, and mobile when needed
• Integrate AI into daily development and share reusable patterns
• Define technical direction and architecture for cross-team consistency
• Own end-to-end delivery from problem to production
• Own on-call responsibilities and ensure production reliability
• Improve latency, release processes, and system reliability
• Mentor and uplift colleagues through pattern setting and code reviews

• 10+ years of production software experience
• Full-stack capabilities across backend, web, and infrastructure
• Strong fundamentals in TypeScript, GraphQL, and SQL
• Experience with NestJS (or similar Node.js framework) and React
• Cloud and DevOps experience (GCP or similar, CI/CD, observability)
• Daily use of AI in development and ability to propagate patterns
