Principal Product Engineer

I'm working with a deep tech scale up building cutting edge software and AI-driven products.

They're entering a major growth phase following a large scale platform transformation and are now investing heavily in their next generation of products.

This is one of the most impactful engineering hires in the business.

They're looking for a hands-on technical leader to own product engineering and architecture end-to-end. This is not a people management role. It's for someone who leads through technical excellence, execution, and influence.

What you'll be doing:

• Owning product engineering and technical architecture across a highly complex platform
• Leading and mentoring Staff and Senior Staff Engineers who run their own teams
• Embedding AI-native and automation-first engineering practices
• Partnering with Product, Customer Success and Commercial leadership on product strategy and roadmap
• Driving engineering excellence, delivery velocity and technical quality at scale

What they're looking for:

• 15+ years in software engineering, including significant product development experience
• Proven experience architecting and delivering highly complex software products
• Experience operating in high-growth scale-ups or top-tier product organisations
• Strong track record leading senior technical talent through influence rather than hierarchy
• AI is already a meaningful part of how you design, build and ship products
