Overview

As Principal Product Engineer at Zapp, you own the full lifecycle of customer apps across iOS, Android, and web, shaping a world-class experience. You’ll steer AI-enabled features and patterns that speed delivery and create real customer value. You lead architecture decisions, ensure production readiness, and mentor others to lift the team. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role in a fast-growing, AI-driven, customer-obsessed company. You’ll collaborate across teams to deliver fast, reliable software that delights users.

Pay / Benefits
  • base salary 135,000 – 175,000

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery of features across backend, web, and mobile when required
  • Lead the integration of AI into product development and ship AI-driven patterns
  • Set technical direction, architecture, and standards across the product
  • Prototype and drive high-impact bets in collaboration with the team
  • Manage on-call responsibility and maintain production reliability and security
  • Keep production fast through latency monitoring and hardened release processes
  • Mentor peers and uplift engineering quality and craft
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of production software experience
  • Full-stack capability across backend, web, and infrastructure
  • Proficiency with TypeScript, GraphQL, SQL; experience with NestJS and React
  • Cloud and DevOps mindset (GCP or equivalent, CI/CD, observability)
  • Experience using AI in software development and driving AI-driven product patterns
  • Strong API design, scalability, reliability, and security focus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence and lead
  • Ability to work in uncertainty and deliver with minimal guidance
  • Test-driven development and automated testing as a norm
  • Production-minded with ownership of feature delivery and on-call responsibilities
