Overview
In this role you will lead RAMS and System Assurance across Hitachi Rail UK projects, shaping Safety Cases and Assurance strategies to ensure safe, reliable solutions. You will manage and develop a team of RAMS engineers and collaborate with global partners, customers and project teams. The position covers mainline and light rail portfolios, including ETCS OnBoard, Wayside, Tramways and HS2. You will influence strategic RAMS development and bid delivery while maintaining high standards of compliance.

- Lead development and maintenance of Safety Cases, RAMS Management Plans and Assurance approvals for project delivery
- Ensure compliance with legislation, customer requirements and industry standards
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to RAMS and Assurance professionals
- Contribute to strategic RAMS development across Hitachi Rail UK
- Support recruitment, succession planning and capability development within the function
- Support bid activities by defining RAMS strategies, resource requirements and delivery plans
- Build strong relationships with customers, industry partners and regulatory stakeholders
- Represent Hitachi Rail at customer meetings and industry forums when required
- Significant experience in Technical Safety and Systems Assurance within rail or safety-critical industries
- Proven experience managing technical teams and leading multidisciplinary stakeholders
