Principal Software Engineer

In this Principal Software Engineer role, you will design and build software for Raytheon UK's cyber and defence initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones. You’ll contribute to continuous improvement and help shape technical direction within an agile environment. The position supports advanced mission-critical solutions for national security, in locations including Gloucester or Manchester, with eDV clearance required. • Core Software Engineering: JavaScript frameworks (React, NextJS), TypeScript, Python or Java
• REST API development / OpenAPI / Swagger
• Cloud services (AWS or Azure)
• Containerisation & Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
• Relational Databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)
• Elasticsearch / Opensearch
• Unit testing and automation / Testing frameworks (Mocha, Jest, Cypress)
• Experience working in an Agile delivery team
