Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new software features and capabilities for defence systems
- Collaborate within a community of senior engineers to improve, innovate, and deliver market-leading products
- Contribute across the software lifecycle from design through integration and testing
- Mentor and coach engineers to uplift software engineering capabilities
- Work with cross-disciplinary teams (systems, hardware, firmware) to ensure coherent integration
Key requirements
- Several years of C/C++ software engineering in aerospace, defence, or safety-critical domains
- Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, UDP, and socket programming
- RTOS concepts (multi-threading, IPC)
- DDS Middleware
- Experience with Visual Studio, CMake, Git, and Ubuntu Linux
- Embedded SoC platforms (e.g., Xilinx, Texas Instruments) and embedded Linux
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting on embedded platforms
- Familiarity with iterative development lifecycles and related tools (Jira/DevOps)
- Knowledge of development to design and coding standards
