Overview

In this role you own and shape the technical strategy for a software vertical, aligning with cross‑functional teams to influence enterprise-wide architecture and practices. You lead high-impact technical work, mentor engineers, and communicate with executives to translate technical strategy into business outcomes. You balance long-term vision with pragmatic execution, driving simplicity and operational excellence across the vertical. You engage with other verticals to advance the North Star technical strategy and influence technology choices that enable scale and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Own the vertical's technical strategy and architecture, aligning engineers to a unified technical plan
  • Drive operational excellence and handle complex issues when needed
  • Stay current on industry standards, trends, and integration strategies
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of AI with proven adoption in daily work life
  • Write accessible code and maintain high standards for quality
  • Influence technical tradeoffs between short-term needs and long-term technology goals
  • Drive engineering engagement practices (Security, Quality, etc.) and set vertical standards
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to their professional development
  • Support software on-call rotation
Key requirements
  • Hands-on experience building AI solutions, agentic workflows, agent platform and architecture
  • Expert level experience building complex, integrated systems in a regulated industry
  • Expert level experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant, highly available systems
  • Experience influencing technical decisions across 50+ person engineering verticals
  • Understanding of broad data structures and algorithms
  • Expert understanding of design patterns and architectural principles
  • Experience making pragmatic tradeoffs between short-term and long-term needs
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, or other functional/OO languages)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and best practices through influence
