As a Principal Software Engineer in Public Markets Technology, you will help build an AI-enabled investment platform by delivering scalable Python solutions on a cloud-first stack. You’ll collaborate with portfolio managers, data specialists, and engineers to translate investment challenges into robust technology. The role emphasizes modern engineering practices, AI-assisted development, and product-oriented delivery to support investment decisions. You’ll mentor teammates and contribute to a culture of clean code, testability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Write reusable Python components and packages
  • Develop cloud-native solutions on AWS
  • Refine and extend the platform in response to business needs
  • Collaborate with business users to co-create maintainable Python code
  • Coach and mentor junior team members to uphold best practices
Key requirements
  • Strong Python development experience in a professional environment
  • Solid knowledge of Python standard libraries and popular third-party packages
  • Experience designing large-scale analytics workflows (ETL, orchestration, distributed compute) with Pandas, Polars, and Dask
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, and OLAP/OLTP concepts
  • Understanding of data structures and data transformation methodologies
  • Experience embedding agentic development tools into engineering practices and setting standards
  • Ability to own end-to-end delivery in an Agile, DevSecOps environment (Scrum, Git, CI/CD)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders
  • Linux proficiency
  • Experience with Docker
  • Cloud experience (AWS or Azure)
  • Financial Services software development experience
  • Proven track record of driving improvement initiatives (CI/CD, agentic workflows, testing methodologies)
  • Business-facing mindset
