Overview

As a Principal Software Engineer in Mastercard’s Operations Automation Program, you lead automation and infrastructure management across on-premise and cloud environments. You’ll shape scalable DevOps across global engineering teams, champion Infrastructure as Code, and advance high-performance, cost-efficient delivery of distributed systems. This role offers impact on critical infrastructure while collaborating across product, development, and operations teams in a fast-paced, security-conscious setting.

Responsibilities
  • Automate, provision and manage public and on-prem cloud infrastructure, including containerized and virtualized systems
  • Plan, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for fast, safe delivery of distributed systems across global data centres
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to automate deployments, troubleshoot issues, and support new product initiatives
  • Champion Infrastructure as Code using Terraform Enterprise, Ansible and Chef
  • Drive observability and reliability through monitoring/logging/alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, etc.)
  • Foster continuous improvement and adopt new tools to boost efficiency, scalability and cost optimization
  • Hands-on automation coding in GoLang
  • Partner with stakeholders to align DevOps initiatives with uptime, deployment velocity, and cost efficiency
Key requirements
  • 10+ years in Software Engineering and DevOps roles
  • Strong Linux systems administration
  • Deep familiarity with AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Experience with container orchestration/tools (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker Compose)
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform Enterprise, Ansible and Chef
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
  • Proficient in scripting/programming (Bash, Go, Python, Ruby)
  • Experience with monitoring/observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace)
