Overview

In this role, you accelerate secure, high-quality software delivery across Leonardo’s defence and security programmes. You will help shape and evolve the enterprise DevSecOps capability to enable teams to deliver features rapidly, reliably, and securely. You’ll champion modern engineering practices, drive automation, and embed security throughout the software development lifecycle. You will mentor colleagues, foster a collaborative DevSecOps culture, and push for continuous improvement and operational excellence. This opportunity centers on building secure-by-design systems at scale and contributing to a mission-critical engineering agenda.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the evolution of Leonardos enterprise DevSecOps platform
  • Mentor teams on DevSecOps practices, tools and ways of working
  • Plan and implement DevSecOps capabilities across cloud, on‑premises and hybrid environments
  • Design, deploy and maintain development, test and operational environments
  • Drive automation across software delivery and infrastructure provisioning
  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
  • Apply change, configuration and release management practices
  • Support deployed services for performance, security and availability
  • Collaborate with engineers, platform teams and stakeholders to improve delivery
  • Champion secure-by-design principles across the SDLC

Key requirements
  • Experience delivering software solutions in a complex engineering environment
  • Hands-on CI/CD experience and tooling
  • Knowledge of cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments with security considerations
  • Experience with enterprise DevOps and DevSecOps tools
  • Background in software/platform IT operations or related discipline
  • Experience with requirements management, configuration management and version control tools
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code, automation and deployment technologies
  • Experience in Agile development environments
  • Strong communication skills to mentor and influence technical teams
