As Principal Software Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of governance-by-design platforms and libraries for secure, compliant identity solutions across the enterprise. You will drive AI-enabled, scalable patterns with cross-team collaboration to meet evolving security, governance, and risk requirements. This role blends infrastructure, identity security, and AI to improve delivery speed, code quality, and operational outcomes at scale. You will shape standards, coach engineers, and partner with risk and platform teams to embed governance throughout the SDLC.
Responsibilities- Architect governance-by-design patterns and libraries embedding policy controls and evidence collection
- Create standards and tooling (CLI, SDKs, libraries, templates, checks) to promote compliant identity solutions across platforms
- Partner with platform owners to embed continuous compliance reporting in systems
- Integrate AI capabilities into standard patterns for agent-ready identity constructs and reporting
- Advance engineering excellence via design reviews, reference architectures, coding standards, performance benchmarking, and reliability practices
- Coach engineers, promoting quality, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with identity architects, platform engineers, and risk partners to adopt best-in-class solutions
- Design and govern agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows to boost delivery speed and quality with guardrails for security and reuse
- Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge, including AI-assisted development, to scale automation
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with hands-on experience
- Production-grade systems ownership in large enterprises
- Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, Go, or Scala
- Experience using AI assistants in software engineering and agentic capabilities
- Experience developing engineering practices across teams for identity and security patterns and standards
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, resilience, security implications, and governance
- Experience influencing leaders and engineers to drive pattern adoption and reuse
- Experience designing/operating distributed systems or internal platforms used by multiple teams
- Strong technical communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled development practices across teams
