Principal Software Engineer - Full Stack - AI

As Principal Software Engineer at Anaplan, you will own architecture and delivery of scalable GenAI features that span frontend, backend, and dedicated MCP/agentic services. You’ll lead end‑to‑end GenAI development, integrate LLMs, and ensure production readiness with robust observability and reliability. You’ll mentor engineers, collaborate with product and design, and bridge APIs, MCP servers, and modern UIs to deliver intelligent, automated planning experiences for global customers.

• Architect, design, and deploy scalable GenAI solutions and autonomous AI agents across full-stack services
• Lead end-to-end GenAI development including backend APIs, tools, and evaluation harnesses
• Design, build, and maintain MCP servers and services for secure data exposure to AI workflows
• Drive full-stack engineering across React/TypeScript frontend and backend (Python, Java/Kotlin, or Node.js)
• Establish robust LLM observability, evaluation, and caching; optimize latency and monitor agent behavior
• Champion operational excellence with high availability, performance, and observability across microservices
• Mentor senior and junior engineers; collaborate with product managers to translate vision into roadmaps

• Senior or principal level software engineering experience with complex projects
• Hands-on production exposure with agentic AI workflows and GenAI features
• Proficiency in frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend languages (Python, Java/Kotlin, or Node.js)
• Deep understanding of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, multi‑agent architectures, and MCP services
• Experience with observability, logging, and performance monitoring in distributed systems
