- Own the technical strategy and roadmap for the People & Labour sub-domains, prioritising Azure microservices modernisation, integrations, and data flow
- Lead system design and architecture across teams and platforms, guiding API, event-driven, SaaS integration, and build-versus-buy decisions
- Mentor engineering managers, staff engineers, and other senior talent to maintain high technical standards
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Workforce Management, Product, Architecture, Security and Data stakeholders to align tech and business objectives
- Drive operational excellence via observability, resilience, incident management, CI/CD, developer experience, and AI adoption across SDLC
- Extensive system design and architecture experience in complex, business-critical domains
- Proven experience modernising Azure-based distributed or microservices architectures
- Strong knowledge of APIs, asynchronous messaging, SaaS integration, observability, security, resilience and CI/CD
- Understanding of People and Labour domains (HR, payroll, absence, time and attendance, etc.)
- Strong mentoring, influencing, and stakeholder management skills with handling of sensitive data
