Overview

As a Principal Software Engineer in Global Technology Asset Management, you lead architectural and technical decisions to deliver firmwide solutions. You’ll mentor junior engineers and drive cross‑team collaboration to align with the bank’s strategic goals. You tackle complex problems across technologies, shaping product direction and engineering workflows. You enable rapid, secure delivery through AI‑assisted practices and robust governance, delivering high‑quality, scalable software. This role offers meaningful impact at scale while advancing a diverse, inclusive engineering culture.

Responsibilities
  • Break down complex problems into actionable technical specifications for engineering teams
  • Lead and participate in technical meetings to influence technology strategy and product direction
  • Architect and govern AI-enabled engineering workflows to improve delivery, quality, and reliability at scale
  • Design and implement secure, high-quality solutions using Java and current technologies
  • Leverage SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to increase automation and value
  • Support products through their life cycle including production and incident management
  • Contribute to engineering communities of practice and promote inclusive team culture
Key requirements
  • Expert knowledge of the full SDLC including design, development, testing, and operations
  • Expert coding skills with modern programming languages and database querying
  • Expert server-side experience with Java/SpringBoot
  • Experience building solutions on at least one cloud platform (AWS) with integration technologies (GraphQL, REST) and NoSQL/SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, TigerGraph)
  • Solid understanding of agile practices (CI/CD, resiliency, security)
  • Experience designing and leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled development practices, including governance and security considerations
  • Strong foundation in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or related field
