Overview

In this Principal Software Engineer role, you will shape the multi-year platform engineering roadmap and architectural strategy to deliver scalable, secure infrastructure for customer-focused fintech products. You’ll mentor engineers, align technical decisions with business impact, and drive adoption of AI-enabled development practices. The role emphasizes collaboration across product, security, and operations teams to improve delivery speed and reliability. You will influence cloud, AI, and platform standards to create measurable business value.

Responsibilities
  • Define and drive multi-year technical roadmap and architectural strategy for platform engineering
  • Mentor senior engineers and elevate technical standards across teams
  • Serve as technical liaison translating decisions into business impact
  • Lead design and delivery of composable, secure, scalable infrastructure
  • Own production stability with automation, SLOs/SLIs and continuous improvement
  • Drive architectural standards and evaluations with partners
  • Champion FinOps for cloud cost optimisation and performance tuning
  • Architect and govern AI-enabled engineering workflows with guardrails for security and reuse
  • Apply SDLC toolchain tools including AI-assisted development to scale automation
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification in relevant field or cloud platforms
  • Expert-level administration of a major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
  • Mastery of Kubernetes administration and operator patterns
  • Strong cloud networking expertise across OSI model
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code
  • Hands-on system design, development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced proficiency in modern languages (Go, Java, Kotlin)
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and cross-team collaboration
  • Hands-on Security Engineering experience
  • Experience designing and leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled development practices
  • Understanding of responsible AI use and governance in engineering workflows
  • Strong collaboration and communication
