As Principal Systems Engineer you will own CCS design technically and act as the project’s technical lead to enable in-service programmes. You’ll guide design decisions, govern baselines, and coordinate stakeholders and suppliers to address risks early. Your system integration expertise will span sub-systems and software-intensive domains, driving validation and verification. - Provide technical ownership of CCS design and lead design decisions
- Support Engineering manager to deliver in-service programmes
- Oversee project scope, manage design changes, and address risks with stakeholders and suppliers
- Lead programme-level design reviews and manage design baselines
- Ensure design governance and Certificate of Design production where required
- Review and influence technical requirements and architecture for system integration
- Provide subject matter expertise in integration, validation, and verification of software-intensive systems
- Experience in network or software engineering, preferably with an operations background
- Ability to lead on technical matters and provide expert guidance
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
- Familiarity with DOORS and hands-on experience
- Proven experience in change management processes
- Knowledge of Combat systems (preferable if Submarine-related)
- Experience in INCOSE Systems Engineering qualifications (desirable)
- Operator-facing or operator-experience preferred (desirable)
