Overview

In this role, you will provide technical leadership within the Warship Technical Authority Systems Engineering Hub, guiding complex naval systems across the lifecycle. You will lead multi-disciplinary delivery, manage key contracts, and mentor engineers to build capability within cross-functional teams. The position supports design governance, verification, and platform management across diverse warship programmes. You will work with stakeholders to capture requirements and ensure traceability, delivering value to asset management and transformation efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Lead delivery of contracted workstreams and tailor systems engineering services for Asset Management Service Hubs
  • Champion MBSE practices, set modelling standards, and maintain synchronized models and documents
  • Capture, decompose and manage requirements with end-to-end traceability and impact assessments
  • Conduct technical reviews, governance, and assurance activities, ensuring safety and security obligations
  • Plan integration, verification and validation to achieve on-time, high-quality customer acceptance
  • Collaborate with cross-domain teams to improve service offerings and support transformation
  • Mentor engineers and drive capability growth across projects and teams
  • Define statements of work, manage technical risks and opportunities, and align stakeholders
Key requirements
  • Experience applying systems engineering across the lifecycle (requirements, architecture, MBSE, V&V)
  • Proficiency with design methodologies/architectures (e.g., UAF, NAF, TOGAF, SysML, UML) and MBSE tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect)
  • Experience with requirements and interface management tools (e.g., DOORS) and maintaining traceability
  • Knowledge of ISO 15288
  • Degree level qualification in a STEM or systems-related discipline (or equivalent experience); working towards CEng preferred
