Principal Systems Engineer (Trials)

In this role you will support and execute integration, ground and flight test trials of Leonardo EW systems, shaping their deployment worldwide. You will work within a cross-functional team to verify requirements, document trials, and lead installation and commissioning on end-user platforms. The position blends hands-on testing with engineering support during development and delivery phases, contributing to secure, mission-ready EW capabilities. • Capture trials requirements with bid teams and ensure alignment with budgets
• Produce cost estimates for trials
• Review trial requirements against budgets and platform environments
• Support Design Review process and Vendor Certification
• Lead installation of products on end-user platforms
• Lead commissioning and acceptance phases post-delivery
• Provide trials support (platform integrator, coordinator, operator or observer) during land, air and sea trials
• Book test ranges and align trials with plans
• Supply trials data for analysis
• Participate in trials (up to 3 weeks per activity)
• Produce trial documentation (plans, ICDs, installation procedures, user manuals, risk assessments, schedules, reports, lessons learned)

• Background in electronics, system integration, testing or qualification
• Strong customer focus
• Strong IT skills including diagnostic tools and MS Office
• Experience in electronics industry or trial support desirable but not essential
• Willingness to learn and adaptable attitude
• Security clearance requirements (BPSS, NSV, SC/DV) per UK standards
