Overview
As a Principal Engineer in Oracle Cloud’s Northern Ireland sovereign cloud group, you will own the operation of critical production environments, including systems and databases. You’ll drive availability, performance, and supportability, guiding junior engineers and coordinating cross-team incident resolution. You’ll apply deep Oracle Cloud Infrastructure knowledge to complex production problems at scale, with 24/7 operations in a secure, government-focused context. This role offers a chance to shape sovereign cloud capabilities and collaborate across partners to meet mission-critical requirements.

- Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize production server hardware and software
- Provide escalated technical support for complex issues and lead problem management
- Coordinate escalated cases with internal resources and third-party vendors; manage storage infrastructure
- Assist with OS, application upgrades, patching, and standardization projects within Oracle stack
- Lead communications with partners to resolve complex problems
- Mentor junior engineers to build their skills
- Support 24/7 operations with day/night shift rotations
