Overview

In this role you will lead the development and maintenance of automated test solutions for complex defence systems. You will work within a specialist engineering team to design and verify test equipment and fixtures, applying DFT principles to new products. You’ll mentor engineers and shape test strategies for production and new product introduction, operating in a highly specialised environment. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines electronics, software, and test automation at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance NI-based Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems
  • Design, develop and verify automated test solutions using TestStand, LabVIEW and FlexStand
  • Design test fixtures and commission new test capabilities
  • Incorporate Design for Test (DFT) into new product development
  • Support production-critical test equipment and resolve technical issues
  • Develop documentation, processes and future test strategies for production and new product introduction
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to engineers in the test function

Key requirements
  • Strong hands-on experience with TestStand and automated functional test systems
  • Experience developing automated test solutions using LabVIEW
  • Background in Automated Test Equipment design, support or test development
  • Good electronics engineering knowledge including schematics interpretation
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with test instrumentation (oscilloscopes, DMM, signal generators, data acquisition)
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Certified TestStand Developer or Architect status would be advantageous
