As Principal Test Engineer in our Clinical Software Development group, you guide testing, verification, and validation of software and integrated clinical systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, performance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance for software-controlled LC-MS instrumentation. The role focuses on testing strategies, end-to-end verification, and driving quality across multiple product lines. You’ll shape testing approaches and mentor engineers, contributing to meaningful healthcare diagnostics improvements.

- Define and champion testing strategies and validation approaches across multiple development teams
- Design, develop, maintain and execute manual and automated tests for clinical software products
- Lead system-level testing for software-controlled LC-MS instrumentation and lab workflows
- Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and product teams to verify end-to-end system behavior
- Drive test automation, infrastructure, tooling, and process improvements
- Investigate complex issues spanning software, instrumentation, data acquisition, and system integration
- Act as a technical authority for testing approaches and test strategies
- Support risk management, defect investigations, and root cause analysis
- Contribute to cybersecurity testing to ensure secure, resilient products
- Mentor engineers and testers, fostering technical growth across the organization
- Work within a regulated quality management system to support clinical and IVD product development
- Extensive experience testing complex software-controlled systems, analytical instrumentation, or integrated hardware/software products
- Strong experience with analytical instrumentation, laboratory systems, or other highly regulated technical products
- Experience testing hardware/software systems across the product lifecycle (requirements to sustaining)
- Ability to investigate and resolve system-level issues involving software, instrumentation, data acquisition, and lab workflows
- Solid understanding of software development and testing methodologies
- Proven ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction
- Experience in a regulated development environment and quality management systems
- Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Analytical Sciences, or related discipline
