Overview

In this role you will lead the design and delivery of real-time embedded software for electrification applications, including battery management, power conversion, and EV control systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate system requirements into robust software architectures and verification plans. You will shape high-integrity software platforms while ensuring quality and compliance with standards. This is a senior, technically hands-on position with impact across hardware integration and project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead design, implementation and testing of real-time embedded software platforms for microcontroller systems
  • Develop low-level and application software using C, C++ and assembly
  • Design modular, scalable software components (drivers, communication stacks, HALs)
  • Work with CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, UART and Ethernet; manage bootloaders and firmware updates
  • Translate system requirements into software specs and maintain architecture/design docs
  • Plan and execute unit/integration/system testing with static/dynamic analysis tools
  • Support compliance with MISRA-C, CERT C, ISO 26262 and ASPICE
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, systems, validation and manufacturing teams for hardware integration
Key requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in software engineering, electronic engineering or related discipline
  • Significant experience in embedded software design for hard real-time systems
  • Advanced programming skills in embedded C and C++, with assembly knowledge
  • Experience with software requirements, specifications, test docs, version control and change management
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools and configuration management (Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Knowledge of CAN-based tools (INCA, CANape, CANalyzer) and complex electrical systems
  • Understanding of functional safety, cyber security and industry standards for high-integrity control systems
