Overview
In this role you will strengthen Weir’s privacy and data governance posture to support a global, safety‑driven organization. You will implement and mature privacy controls, data governance frameworks, and AI governance processes across functions. You’ll partner with Legal, Compliance and AI teams to embed responsible practices and manage risk, audits, and regulatory inquiries. This is an opportunity to shape governance at scale in a technology-enabled, global mining context.

- Develop and maintain the Privacy Management Framework aligned with GDPR, UK data protection and global laws
- Implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, standards, and ownership models
- Design privacy and data governance controls, conduct risk assessments and support audits
- Oversee AI use case governance, intake, approval, and monitoring
- Engage stakeholders, deliver training, and foster accountability for governance
- Drive continuous improvement and automation to enhance governance maturity
- Support incident investigations and regulatory inquiries
- Promote a culture of safe, responsible innovation and data trust
- Certified in CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT or equivalent privacy certification
- Proven experience in Privacy, Data Governance, Risk Management, or Compliance in corporate/global environments
- Strong knowledge of data management disciplines (quality, metadata, classification, ownership)
- Excellent stakeholder management, analytical, communication, and facilitation skills
