Overview

As a Product Developer at Greencore, you will turn concepts into commercially viable meals, balancing quality, cost, and nutritional targets. You’ll work with chefs and cross-functional teams to refine recipes, validate feasibility, and ensure scalable, repeatable innovations. This role supports the innovation team in Holbeach, contributing to Greencore’s mission to make everyday taste better. You will shape products from concept through launch, partnering with operations, purchasing, and commercial teams for success.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new and existing recipes into commercially viable products with cost, weight, and nutrition targets
  • Input and verify recipes on the management system with product technologists and chefs
  • Assess new raw ingredients for technical and operational viability to drive innovation
  • Complete and review feasibility-related documentation for internal and external sharing
  • Guide concepts through feasibility with commercial, operations, technical, and purchasing teams to ensure repeatability and scalability
  • Compile product costing and adjust recipes to meet commercial briefs and brand standards
  • Present benchmarking and new product proposals to stakeholders to secure approval
  • Follow project timelines and escalate deficiencies to avoid launch delays
  • Support scale-up production trials to ensure kitchen-to-production quality alignment
  • Provide leadership to keep the team safe, engaged, and developing
Key requirements
  • Proven experience in food product development
  • Analytical with ability to produce and review costings
  • Proficient across product development from concept to launch
  • Proven track record validating products and producing high-quality documentation
  • Confident presenter to internal and external audiences
