Overview
In this role you will support civil aerospace gas turbine engine aftermarket MRO operations from an office, interfacing with shop floor, engineering, planning and cost teams to ensure safe, efficient engine overhaul and non-conformance management. You own Departure Records or Technical Variances and help control engine life-cycle costs to boost MRO throughput. You will respond to technical queries from OEMs and contribute to shop flow improvements, enabling timely, cost-effective outcomes.
Responsibilities- Support engine inspection and kitting activities with accurate hardware condition capture and documentation
- Develop Pareto and root-cause analyses to improve cost control, planning accuracy, and repair strategy
- Serve as the technical interface between shop operations, engineering, planning, and cost/programme functions
- Respond to technical queries and follow-up requests from OEM hardware owners
- Contribute to initiatives to improve shop flow, turnaround time, and overall MRO throughput
- Experience in gas turbine MRO, repair engineering, and/or shop support roles.
- DR or TV background advantageous.
- Knowledge of gas turbine engine disassembly and inspection in an overhaul environment.
- Working knowledge of a gas turbine, part inspection processes, and common damage modes.
- Desirable: Experience within OEM or OEM-authorised MRO facilities.
- Exposure to parts exposure tracking, scrap analysis, or cost drivers in MRO operations.
- Experience working across multiple MRO sites or within a global MRO network.
- Strong practical engineering judgement and attention to detail.
- Clear and confident communicator across engineering, operations, and programme teams.
- Collaborative mindset with the confidence to challenge assumptions.
