Overview

In this role, you will lead the Product Support Engineering team within Production Engineering to deliver expert technical assistance across the product lifecycle. You will act as the primary escalation point for assembly-related issues and drive cross-functional improvements with design, quality, and supply chain. The position focuses on enabling efficient assembly operations and continuous improvement through hands-on mentoring and project delivery. Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day priorities of the Product Support Engineering team in line with business needs
  • Train and mentor product support engineers on complex technical issues
  • Serve as the main technical escalation for assembly issues
  • Provide expert technical support for assembly operations and troubleshoot complex product issues
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with design, supply chain, quality, and suppliers
  • Support supplier technical discussions related to parts, sub-assemblies, and manufacturing
  • Represent the department in review meetings
  • Collaborate with production teams to meet output and efficiency targets
  • Drive efficiency and productivity improvements with key stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities
  • Undertake special projects as required

Key requirements
  • Significant experience in senior leadership roles within a manufacturing environment
  • Advanced knowledge of sensors, electrical engineering, and fabrication processes
  • Proven experience supervising technical teams and providing expert guidance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex product issues
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills for cross-functional activities
  • Understanding of quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to manage supplier technical discussions and support manufacturing
  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
