Overview

As Product Delivery Team Leader you will guide the evolution of Birketts’ digital products and services, aligning priorities with business goals. You’ll work with Product Managers, Business Analysts and tech leaders to shift from project-based to product-led delivery. You’ll coach teams, foster collaboration and continuously improve product management capabilities. This role sits in a cross-functional IT team driving value for clients and colleagues in a forward-thinking firm.

Responsibilities
  • Understand business needs with stakeholders to shape product initiatives and priorities
  • Assist Product Managers and Business Analysts in defining and maintaining product backlogs
  • Lead prioritisation discussions to focus on high-value opportunities
  • Develop and communicate product roadmaps with Product Managers and stakeholders
  • Ensure product priorities align with business objectives, value, risk, compliance and operational impacts
  • Promote product discovery practices to understand user needs and opportunities for improvement
  • Encourage stakeholder feedback, user insight and data-informed decisions
  • Support teams in reviewing outcomes and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
  • Foster growth of product management capability through coaching and development
  • Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous learning across digital product teams
  • Support individuals in setting objectives and developing professionally
  • Support transition from project-based to product-led approaches
  • Encourage consistent product management, discovery and prioritisation practices
  • Facilitate collaboration between business change, product management and technology teams
  • Align roadmaps with technology standards, operational considerations and wider business priorities
  • Balance user needs, business priorities, risk and compliance in products
Key requirements
  • Experience delivering and improving digital products or services
  • Ability to balance user needs, business priorities and delivery constraints in product decisions
  • Experience leading product planning, roadmaps and prioritisation for digital products
  • Strong understanding of product management principles (discovery, prioritisation, continuous improvement)
  • Experience working with Business Analysts, Product Managers, Product Owners or similar roles
  • Ability to coach individuals and teams in developing product management capability
  • Experience helping organisations adopt product-led ways of working
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills across business and technology teams
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and aid informed decision making in complex environments
  • Comfortable collaborating with technical and delivery teams to shape products
  • Pragmatic, outcome-focused approach with willingness to challenge and improve
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Interest in developing people, fostering collaboration and building high-performing teams
  • Degree-qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience
