Programming Instructor Java Full Stack Developer

Teach Programming I online through Microsoft Teams using Java expertise and strong English communication skills for Winter 2027. The course runs January through June.

The Centre for Continuing Education at John Abbott College seeks a qualified instructor for its Full Stack Developer program. This contract teaches a 60-hour Programming I course, scheduled Monday through Friday during daytime hours. Candidates should bring computer science knowledge, professional or industrial experience, and post-secondary teaching experience. French teaching ability is preferred when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach the 420-JA4-AB Programming I course
• Deliver course instruction online through Microsoft Teams
• Teach Java within the Full Stack Developer program
• Provide instruction during scheduled daytime course hours

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum three years appropriate professional or industrial experience preferred
• Several years post-secondary teaching experience preferred
• Excellent English communication skills required
• Java knowledge required; testing may be required
