Project Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant to join our Construction client's finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project-specific financial activities, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting overall financial health of our client's projects. This role requires a strong background in accounting software and financial analysis, with an emphasis on maintaining precise financial records and supporting project budgeting and reporting.

Duties

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for various projects, ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, and other financial tools to record transactions and generate reports.
• Conduct account reconciliation and bank reconciliation to verify the accuracy of financial data.
• Prepare and analyze project budgets, monitor expenses, and assist in forecasting financial performance.
• Support auditing processes by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Perform bookkeeping duties including ledger management, journal entries, and expense tracking and Cost Accounting
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to project timelines.

Skills

• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks
• Experience in the Construction industry would be considered an asset
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and bookkeeping practices.
• Experience with corporate finance functions including budgeting, auditing, and financial analysis.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external auditors.
