Overview

As a Project Architect for Data Centers, you will lead architectural design and documentation for data center projects within a multidisciplinary team. You will manage design activities, coordinate with clients, contractors and agencies, and ensure code compliance and quality through QA/QC processes. You will contribute to technical design content, layout and detailing, and support construction contract administration as needed. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in the UK and Europe to deliver high-performance, compliant spaces that align with HDR’s collaborative and inclusive culture. Responsibilities
  • Lead layout and detailing on architectural projects, focusing on data centers
  • Establish meetings with owners/clients and internal teams; participate in code compliance reviews
  • Manage design activities and production of design information
  • Conduct on-site work sessions with Project Manager and other disciplines
  • Review documents for cross-disciplinary conflicts; perform QA/QC and technical reviews
  • Write and edit architectural specifications
  • Coordinate with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders
  • Incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents
  • Provide construction contract administration as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture
  • 5+ years experience with data center projects (as per required qualifications)
  • Registered Architect
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools/process
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
  • Experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills
  • Active participation in employee-owned culture
