Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Project Controls Lead in the oil and gas sector in Calgary, Alberta.


Our client is actively hiring for a new role for their company; Lead, Cost Control. The perfect person for this opportunity is a Senior Project Controls or Cost Control leader who has led teams, built governance and reporting processes, managed forecasting for a portfolio of capital projects, and can successfully drive adoption of new project controls standards in a resistant stakeholder environment.


$ - $ annually

Responsibilities:



  • Leading a team of project controls professionals

  • Creating standards, processes, and governance related to project cost management

  • Improving forecasting accuracy and cost reporting

  • Leading cost oversight; validating forecasts, variance analysis, and tracking KPIs

  • Supporting the implementation of new software as well as using Power Query and Excel to streamline things like cost analysis and reporting

  • Acting as the main project controls contact for sustaining capital projects

  • Helping to drive adoption of new processes and owning the cost management processes, standards, and AACE best practices

  • Overseeing the resource management process


Requirements:



  • 10+ years of experience with cost forecasting, budget management, change management, cost reporting, and variance analysis

  • Understanding of scheduling, estimating, risk management, resource forecasting, and change control

  • Working experience as a leader, must have directly led a team

  • Coming from a capital project environment

  • Advanced Excel user, fluent with Power BICCP, CCT, or PMP preferred

  • Familiar with AACE standards

  • Sustaining capital portfolio experience preferred
