Property Accountant

Shindico, an industry leader with nearly 50 years of operations in real estate development and investment management in Canada, is looking for the following full-time permanent position to join our team:

Property Accountant

Working within a team of property accountants, you will be responsible for the overall accounting functions for a real estate asset portfolio consisting of residential, retail, or office properties.

Main responsibilities include the following:

• Full cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties including annual budgets, monthly financial reporting, variance analysis and operational reports
• Budget review and analysis on property financial performance
• Manage rental billings, tenant recoveries, and adjustments in accordance with lease agreements
• Team lead on various projects
• Prepare government remittances and other reports
• Respond to inquiries from team members
• Ad hoc projects

You should possess the following key skills and attributes:

• Professional Accounting designation in process considered an asset
• Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, with above-average problem-solving skills
• Likes to work as part of a team while independently managing their own responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• High level of competence with Microsoft Excel/Office and adept at learning new systems
• Yardi Voyager and Real Estate experience is an asset
