The Opportunity

Two PRN lines on a 20-bed geriatric psychiatry unit in Northwest Philadelphia. Weekday days, paid per encounter, with an APP on the unit and a defined patient population. If you're semi-retired, building a practice around other commitments, or want geriatric psychiatry exposure without a full appointment, these lines are designed to be picked up cleanly.

What You'll Own

  • Per-encounter work on a defined 20-bed unit you know the scope before you arrive.
  • Weekday days. No nights, no weekend requirement on the PRN lines.
  • An APP already on the unit , so coverage doesn't start from zero.
  • A stable, familiar population rather than a rotating unknown census.

Must-Haves

  • MD or DO
  • Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry
  • Pennsylvania license, or eligibility in process

Nice to Have

  • Geriatric psychiatry experience
  • Availability for recurring weekday blocks
  • Epic familiarity

What Working Here Is Actually Like

  • Per-encounter compensation discussed directly on the first call.
  • Malpractice and tail both covered. Tail is the one people forget to ask about until they leave.
  • Epic , with credentialing handled by a team that does this constantly.
  • No minimum annual commitment. Tell us what you can cover.
  • Physician-owned and physician-managed since 2012. When you escalate a problem, it reaches a physician who still works clinical shifts.
  • Two PRN lines available this isn't a single slot that disappears.
  • Licensure is faster than you expect if you're coming from out of state. Pennsylvania participates in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, so if you already hold a qualifying license elsewhere, adding this one typically runs one to three weeks rather than months.

Straight Talk

Per-encounter pay means your income tracks the census, not the clock. On a full unit that works well; on a light week it won't. Ask us what the unit has actually been running before you commit to a block.

IHP is not a locums agency; these are ongoing program positions with stable, named teams.
