Position Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist with experience treating substance use disorders and addiction to provide psychiatric care to adult patients across behavioral health programs in the Indianapolis area.

The primary focus will be Indianapolis, with potential clinical coverage across a network of four adult behavioral health facilities. Additional locations are confidential and approximately 40 minutes to 3 hours from Indianapolis.

The facilities provide detoxification, residential treatment, and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) services.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of adult patients.

• Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions and substance use disorders.

• Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric care.

• Evaluate and treat patients in detoxification, residential, and PHP settings.

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients clinical needs.

• Manage patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders.

• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, social workers, and other multidisciplinary team members.

• Provide clinical guidance and consultation to midlevel providers, as appropriate.

• Participate in treatment planning, discharge planning, and care coordination.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.

• Support quality improvement, patient safety, and continuity of care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.

• Required: Experience treating patients with substance use disorders or addiction.

• Experience in detoxification, residential treatment, PHP, inpatient psychiatry, or other behavioral health settings preferred.

• Active Indiana medical license or ability to obtain one.

• Active DEA registration, as applicable.

• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.

• Willingness to provide clinical coverage across multiple locations, if required.

Ideal Candidate

An experienced psychiatrist with a strong background in addiction treatment, psychiatric medication management, and care for adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Candidates with experience in detox, residential, or PHP settings are strongly preferred.
