The incoming provider will care for both youth and adult psychiatric patients, working collaboratively with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, therapists, and other behavioral health professionals. This position offers a comprehensive outpatient practice focused on psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment planning.Position Highlights Full-time, permanent Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner opportunity 100% outpatient behavioral health Care for both youth and adult patients Collaborative multidisciplinary practice environment Work alongside physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and therapists Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing patient management Medication management Established Mental Health & Wellness Clinic Opportunity to develop long-term relationships with patients and families Integrated approach to behavioral and mental healthcareClinical Responsibilities Assess and diagnose psychiatric and behavioral health conditions Develop individualized plans of care according to established practice protocols Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations Complete medical histories and appropriate physical examinations Provide ongoing psychiatric medication management Monitor patient response to medications and treatment Order appropriate diagnostic testing when clinically indicated Provide follow-up care for youth and adult psychiatric patients Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other behavioral health professionals Coordinate referrals for specialty consultations and additional services when appropriate Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Promote continuity of care throughout the outpatient treatment processQualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Board Certified or Board Eligible as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Current or eligible New York State Nurse Practitioner license Comfortable treating both youth and adult psychiatric populations Strong psychiatric assessment and medication-management skills Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills Ability to work effectively within a team-based behavioral health environment Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered mental healthcareAbout Fulton & Oswego CountyFulton is a community in Central New York's Oswego County offering an affordable lifestyle with convenient access to Oswego, Syracuse, and the surrounding region.
