Overview

In this role you will develop and scale Python-powered web services and APIs that support Global Player and its public-facing radio sites. You’ll contribute to a suite of digital products used by millions of visitors, collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver robust, maintainable solutions. You’ll work hands-on, embrace learning new technologies, and help set engineering standards through code quality and testing. This is a chance to shape high-traffic digital platforms and improve user experiences across devices and channels.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain web services powering Global Player and public-facing radio sites
  • Build APIs and tooling that support mobile apps and devices (Alexa, Google Home)
  • Contribute to internal editorial and content systems feeding public products
Key requirements
  • Strong commercial development experience using Python
  • Solid grasp of OOP and RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with Git and version control
  • Experience in a sociable, cross-functional team
  • Commitment to testing with unit tests, mocking, and test-driven development
  • Experience with relational databases and ORM frameworks
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration
