Python Developer

We’re working with a major global financial services organisation looking for a Senior Python Engineer to help build a new generation of AI-enabled applications.

This is first and foremost a hands‑on engineering role. You’ll be writing production Python and building robust software, while working with modern AI technologies including LLMs, agentic AI and machine learning.

The initial work will use historical customer behaviour and market data to build applications that help front‑office teams make better trading decisions.

What you’ll be doing

• Build production‑grade applications in Python
• Develop and integrate AI and machine learning capabilities
• Work with LLMs, agentic AI and recommendation systems
• Build clean, testable and maintainable software
• Work with business stakeholders to turn requirements into working solutions
• Help ensure AI solutions are properly tested, evaluated and controlled before going into production
• Work across the full lifecycle from design and development through to deployment and production support

What they’re looking for

• Excellent software engineering fundamentals
• Experience building and supporting production systems
• Good understanding of testing, clean code and software design
• Commercial AI/ML experience or strong hands‑on exposure to modern AI technologies
• Comfortable working with LLMs and AI‑assisted development tools
• Experience within financial services or another regulated environment would be beneficial

You do not need to be a career AI Engineer. They are particularly interested in strong Python engineers who have started working with AI and want to build deeper experience delivering AI applications into production.
