Python Developer SQL Market Data

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong backend development experience with Python
• Experience working with financial or market data
• Experience designing and operating data-intensive and distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of databases, including relational, NoSQL, and columnar databases
• Keen to take ownership and work across the full development lifecycle
• Collaborative and pragmatic, with strong stakeholder management skills
• A 2.1 or above in a STEM discipline, likely including MSc-level study

Responsibilities:

• Design and build data platform components using Python
• Develop and optimise ETL pipelines, data lakes/lakehouses, and distributed systems
• Improve infrastructure, observability, and CI/CD practices
• Maintain and evolve existing systems, including microservices, ETL, and Excel add-ins
• Support platform operations, ensuring reliability and performance

This is a hands-on role in a small, collaborative environment where you will have real ownership and impact. You will work across data engineering, distributed systems, infrastructure, and frontend, based full time in our Central London office Monday to Friday.
