Python Lead Software Engineer - Rates Live Risk & P&L

In this role, you will build and operate low-latency Python services powering live Rates risk and P&L, collaborating with traders and risk managers. You’ll own end-to-end production services, from releases to incident response, and drive reliable, observable systems in a fast-moving, collaborative environment. The work centers on turning time-sensitive requirements into robust, production-ready solutions while elevating engineering standards. This is a front-office role with significant impact on trading workflows and operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Build and enhance Python services for live Rates risk and P&L with focus on low latency and predictable performance
- Collaborate with traders and risk managers to translate requirements into production-ready solutions
- Own production services end-to-end including releases, monitoring, incident response, and root-cause analysis
- Troubleshoot across distributed components and data flows; implement fixes to reduce recurrence
- Improve DevOps and operational readiness (CI/CD, environment/dependency management, automation)
- Maintain engineering standards through code reviews, testing, performance profiling, and clear runbooks or documentation
- Strong Python development skills with production-quality code and testing/packaging practices
- Experience building and operating production services including support and incident-driven troubleshooting
- Practical SDLC discipline across design, implementation, testing, deployment, and release management
- Experience with CI/CD and observability (monitoring, alerting, logs/metrics) to keep services stable
- Ability to work closely with front-office stakeholders and deliver under shifting priorities
- Strong debugging skills and comfort across multi-component systems
