Overview

In this role you will help build and expand the data pipeline and event streaming capabilities for Cboe Europe’s trading platforms. You will work within a small, skilled team to deliver reliable Python systems that scale with the exchange’s operations, collaborating with cross‑functional teams in Europe and the US. You will tackle complex engineering problems, contribute to R&D initiatives, and support production incidents to keep trading systems healthy. Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business development and sales to scope and design new products/features
  • Design and build reliable, testable Python systems for trading operations
  • Contribute to complex projects by analyzing requirements and implementing new features
  • Collaborate with developers across Europe and the United States
  • Engage in R&D projects to identify and apply new technologies
  • Debug complex engineering and operational issues
  • Provide production support for trading systems including incident response and post-mortems
Key requirements
  • Strong Python knowledge
  • Commitment to writing testable, maintainable code
  • SQL knowledge with ability to write complex queries
  • Basic Linux knowledge
  • Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Experience with TDD/BDD or other testing methodologies (highly preferred)
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Snowflake (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Django, Flask or FastAPI (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Apache Kafka (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Apache Airflow (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Java (preferred)
