QA Automation Engineer - Java/SQL (AVP)

In this role you will drive quality for Citi’s Prime Services equity finance suite in a fast-paced transformation program. You’ll implement and maintain automated tests, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and act as a quality gate to prevent defects. You will leverage Java and SQL to build robust test scripts and advocate for scalable QA practices. This is an opportunity to shape testing automation within a major global bank and deliver high-quality, reliable software to internal clients.

• Implement and operate a BDD automation framework
• Create detailed test plans, cases, estimations, and regression tests
• Serve as the quality gate, documenting and tracking defects
• Develop and run API-based automation for functional and non-functional testing using Citi tools
• Identify optimization opportunities to make QA more efficient and scalable
• Collaborate with business and Production Support to investigate issues and prevent defects
• Develop testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
• Contribute to innovative and best-in-class solutions with the team
• Apply proven software testing concepts to daily tasks
• Collaborate with development to identify and resolve issues
• Adapt to changing business priorities and shift focus as required

• Automation testing experience with strong Java
• Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber)
• API automation/testing experience
• SQL for database validation and testing
• CI/CD familiarity (Jenkins, Git)
