QA Automation Lead

We are seeking a QA Automation Lead with strong experience in backend API testing to support a leading Life Insurance client. The ideal candidate has hands‑on expertise with Playwright and JMeter, can lead QA strategy and execution, and has experience delivering quality solutions within Agile environments. Experience supporting Canadian banks or financial institutions is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead QA strategy, planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Design and execute automated API test cases using Playwright.
  • Perform performance and load testing using JMeter.
  • Validate REST APIs and backend services.
  • Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners.
  • Track defects and ensure high-quality software releases.
  • Support Agile development and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • 5+ years of QA Automation experience.
  • Strong experience with Playwright and JMeter.
  • Experience with backend/API testing (REST services).
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and SDLC.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Life Insurance or Financial Services.
  • Experience working with Canadian banks.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, SQL, and CI/CD pipelines.
