QA Engineer

Job Title: QA Engineer

Role Type: Contract

Length: 6 Months initial

Location: UK wide (Bi-monthly - sites may vary)

Our client is looking for an experienced QA Engineer to build robust automated testing solutions for cloud-native applications and microservices. You'll work closely with development teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle and support reliable, secure releases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks and suites.
• Create functional, regression, integration, API and end-to-end tests.
• Test AWS-hosted, cloud-native applications and distributed microservices.
• Embed quality across the SDLC, CI/CD pipelines and shift-left practices.
• Analyse results, manage defects and support root cause analysis.
• Help ensure solutions meet functional, performance, security and other non-functional requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Strong QA and test automation experience using Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Java and BDD.
• Hands-on experience testing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Good knowledge of automated testing frameworks and CI/CD integration.
• Experience working in AWS environments and Agile delivery teams.
• Strong troubleshooting and defect management skills.
• Experience delivering Government or Public Sector programmes.

Desirable:

AWS certification and experience with performance testing, Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, security or accessibility testing, and GDS-aligned delivery would be advantageous.
