Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

QA Automation Engineer (Automation + Performance) | Government Transformation | Manchester Hybrid | £275pd Inside IR35 | SC Eligible | ASAP Start

We're looking for a QA / Test Engineer with strong Automation experience to join a major public sector digital transformation programme.

This is a long-term contract, hybrid working with 1 day per week on-site in Manchester, starting ASAP.

The Role:

You'll be part of a large-scale agile delivery team responsible for quality across critical digital services. It's a hands-on automation role, but the client has specifically asked for someone who can also bring Performance testing experience.

What you'll be doing:

• Designing, building and maintaining automation frameworks
• Developing and executing automated test suites
• Working closely with Developers, BAs and Product to embed quality throughout the SDLC
• Supporting performance test planning and execution
• Contributing to test strategy, best practice and continuous improvement

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience as a QA / Test Automation Engineer
• Strong hands-on experience with Automation Frameworks
• Experience with performance testing tools - JMeter, Gatling, K6 or similar
• Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments
• Experience working on large-scale, complex programmes - public sector / government experience highly desirable
• SC Eligible - You must be eligible for SC clearance (5 years UK residency)
