Overview

As a QA Engineer in the Cambridge CAD/PLM engineering team, you will help ensure the quality and reliability of cloud-enabled SaaS platforms. You will work closely with full-stack, frontend, and DevOps teams to cover tests across UI, APIs, and data layers, shaping complex CAD/PLM workflows. Your work supports scalable backend services and modern web interfaces in a cloud-native environment, within an agile setting. This role offers impact by improving product quality early in development and collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests for CAD/PLM web applications
  • Validate frontend UI, backend services, APIs, and data layers
  • Test complex CAD/PLM workflows (configuration, data integrity, performance, integration points)
  • Contribute to and extend test automation frameworks (UI and API)
  • Collaborate with engineers using TypeScript and Node.js (NestJS/Express)
  • Test frontend applications built with Angular
  • Validate backend logic with ORMs (TypeORM, Prisma) and SQL
  • Support testing in cloud-native and containerized environments (Kubernetes)
  • Participate in CI/CD pipelines and ensure tests run during builds/deployments
  • Perform regression, integration, exploratory, and acceptance testing
  • Engage in defect triage, root cause analysis, and quality improvement discussions
Key requirements
  • Experience as a QA Engineer in a complex software environment
  • Hands-on experience testing web-based SaaS platforms
  • Strong experience with test automation (UI and/or API)
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript
  • Experience testing Node.js backend services (NestJS, Express)
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks, especially Angular
  • Experience testing systems using ORMs (TypeORM, Prisma) and SQL databases
  • Understanding of Agile / Scrum development methodologies
