In this Senior Linux Engineer role, you design, build, and optimize cutting-edge Linux-based infrastructure for a leading trading and research environment. You will work within the Quant Systems team in London to shape compute, storage, and networking platforms that power low-latency, data-intensive workflows. This hands-on position values automation, cross-team collaboration, and practical problem-solving to drive performance and reliability. You will contribute to scalable, high-performance systems that support both trading and research operations, offering a meaningful impact at scale.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure, HPC clusters, storage, networking, and development tools
- Contribute to projects on workload orchestration, system monitoring, distributed storage, SDLC processes, and performance optimization for kernels and networks
- Enhance performance of mission-critical, low-latency, data-intensive applications
- Oversee infrastructure for large-scale distributed systems, HPC environments, and large storage arrays
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve complex issues using advanced diagnostics and monitoring tools
- Drive automation and workflow improvements across the technology stack
- Degree in computer science or related technical field; 10–20 years of experience in system engineering or similar roles
- Expertise in Linux systems administration with advanced configuration management knowledge
- Strong Python proficiency; familiarity with Go, Rust, or C is advantageous
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and software development lifecycle management
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; experience with diagnostic and tracing tools
- Experience with distributed systems, large-scale computing environments, and high-performance storage (highly preferred)
