Overview

In this role you lead and develop a multi‑regional technical team responsible for design, implementation and operation of Quantexa data solutions. You will collaborate with architects, stakeholders and other systems to deliver resilient, production‑grade platforms while balancing pragmatism with long‑term best practice. You’ll also contribute hands‑on development and analysis, shaping technical direction and solving complex problems. This opportunity combines leadership with hands‑on engineering in a dynamic, cross‑functional setting.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team across locations (UK, India, China, Poland, Mexico)
  • Design and implement changes with production resilience and performance in mind
  • Coordinate with bank architects, systems, and stakeholders
  • Balance pragmatic delivery with long‑term best practices
  • Hands‑on development and analysis in addition to management duties
  • Manage change and run activities; participate in solution planning
  • Represent the platform in senior meetings and external forums
  • Ensure effective problem solving and delivery within Agile and DevOps contexts
Key requirements
  • Hands‑on technical development experience
  • Data engineering or equivalent engineering background
  • Experience managing a developer team
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate technical detail to non‑technical audiences
  • Proficiency in Agile and DevOps practices
  • Proficiency in Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Python (or a data engineering language)
  • Experience building and deploying production data solutions with application support
  • Knowledge of testing libraries (e.g., ScalaTest) and testing types
  • Familiarity with CDP 7.1, HDFS, Unix, Unix Shell Scripting, Elasticsearch
  • Experience with Quantexa Data Engineering Certification
  • Experience with managed services (AWS EKS, Azure EKS)
  • Experience in Angular, Microservices (OCP, Kubernetes)
  • Ability to understand complex business requirements and perform system design
