Radiology - Imaging Physician

Diagnostic Radiology locums coverage for a regional hospital. Remote reading may be an option, and fast emergency privileges can get you working quickly while full credentialing completes.

HIGHLIGHTS

• No call for the locum; after-hours coverage is already in place
• Onsite or remote reading may be available for the right candidate
• Fast emergency or temp privileges, then standard credentialing continues
• Minimum 2 full days per week, with interest in expanding days over time
• Primarily adult patient mix; pediatrics are sent out
• Ongoing need while the hospital recruits a permanent radiologist

PRACTICE SETTING

• Acute care hospital with an emergency department
• Mix of inpatient and outpatient diagnostic radiology, including CT and other non-mammography modalities
• About 150 studies per day facility-wide, with about 50 ED/STAT studies per day
• PACS administrator support available
• Tech stack: MEDITECH Expanse, Philips iSite PACS, Fluency for Radiology

SCHEDULE

• Weekday coverage, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Minimum commitment of 2 full days per week, onsite or remote depending on the arrangement
• Hospital looking to grow coverage to more days over time
• No call required

TURNAROUND EXPECTATIONS

• STAT/ED and stroke studies: 30 minutes
• Inpatient routine: 12 hours
• Outpatient routine: 18 hours

REQUIREMENTS

• MD or DO
• Board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology (board eligible within 5 years accepted)
• Active Mississippi medical license required; the hospital will not wait for a license, and IMLC license holders are welcome to inquire
• DEA required
• Strong CT and ED reading experience, comfortable with fast turnaround
• Remote candidates: reliable high-speed internet and a home reading setup
